The Comeback Kid

This track season was plagued with obstacles for Simon. It was frustrating as could be. He started out missing the first three weeks of the season due to having mono.

I almost felt sorry for him but...well...you know how you get mono sooooooo...

But he pushed through it still working hard at every practice. He continued with setbacks due to a few previously scheduled and unavoidable conflicts (a trip to NYC and my parent's 50th anniversary in Utah) which prevented him from competing in two different meets.

Still fighting he competed to the end. It wasn't until the very last meet that he even PR'ed this season.

But never fear, Simon is here! And somehow through a small miracle he and his little 4x4 relay team ran their little hearts out to secure a spot at the State Championships.

And who would have thought that this boy would not only secure a spot, but even secure a medal. Third place at State! What a way to end the season. We couldn't be prouder of him!
